Lauth Breaks Ground on “Green” Office/Healthcare Development in Mesa

PHOENIX (October 2, 2007) – Mesa Mayor Keno Hawker today joined Lauth to break ground on Riverview Point, a six building office park located near the border of Mesa, Tempe, and Scottsdale. Phase 1 of Riverview will include two, Class A, LEED Registered office buildings totaling 164,000 square feet (SF). The development will also include a 50,000 SF Class A medical office building.

“Riverview Point is perfectly situated in one of the area’s fastest growing economic corridors,” said Dave Carder, Vice President of Lauth’s Phoenix office. “The project will offer tenants modern buildings geared toward environmental sustainability, easy highway access, and first-class amenities within walking distance.”

Riverview Point is adjacent to Mesa Riverview, a two million SF retail and entertainment development featuring over 27 restaurants. The project offers easy access to commuters arriving on the Loop 101 and Loop 202 interchanges and is only six miles east of the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

“Riverview at Dobson is Mesa’s newest employment center,” said Mayor Hawker. “Riverview Point is a key part of that development and an essential partner in our efforts to raise Mesa’s jobs-to-housing ratio.”

Construction will commence immediately on Phase 1. The buildings are expected to open in the 2nd quarter of 2008. Brad Anderson, Luke Walker, Brian Taute and Mark Krison of CB Richard Ellis will handle the leasing of the office space at Riverview. Patty Hartley of Lauth and Julie Johnson of Coldwell Banker Commercial will lease the medical office building.

Riverview Point is the latest development in Phoenix by Lauth, one of the nation’s leading developers and contractors. The company will break ground later this year on Washington Point, a 640,000 SF office complex in Phoenix. The company opened the 603,910 SF Riverside Business Center this summer and leased over half of the distribution building to Ulta Cosmetics. In the next six months, Lauth plans to begin construction on three additional office, retail, healthcare, and distribution developments in the area totaling nearly 450,000 SF, making it one of the most active commercial developers in Phoenix.

Last month the company broke ground on Montecito Point, an 187,000 SF and LEED Registered office building in Las Vegas, and announced plans for a distribution hub outside of Indianapolis totaling over 7.1 million SF. Lauth began pouring the foundation in August for NASCAR Plaza, a 20-story office tower in downtown Charlotte.
