The Polymer Center - Republic Services

Completed in 2024, the Polymer Center is one of two buildings that make up Republic Services advanced manufacturing plastics recycling facilities. Lauth served as the developer and the general contractor on this project. Providing bottle-to-bottle circularity in plastics recycling, the Polymer Center is outfitted with machinery that sorts, separates, bales, and washes plastics into product and color specific categories.  The plastics are then converted into pellet sized materials that are sold to packing manufacturers for use in creating new plastic bottles.

Republic Services is developing a national network of production facilities to achieve their recycled content goals. The Indianapolis Polymer Center is the second facility in the network. It features:

  • Precast and pre-engineered metal building
  • Dedicated process rooms: processing, sorting, washing, pelleting
  • Spare parts and storage room
  • Locker room and shower facilities
  • Breakroom
  • A second story mezzanine with business offices, kitchenette, and large training room
  • Elevator access to second floor
