MILWAUKEE, WI (November 30, 2007) – The Bradley Center Sports & Entertainment Corporation today announced it will partner on development projects with Indianapolis-based Lauth, one of the largest and most-respected commercial real estate development and construction companies in the country. Bradley Center officials said that Lauth will guide efforts aimed at enhancing the facility as a top destination and major economic driver for Downtown Milwaukee.
Steve Costello, president of the Bradley Center, said Lauth was chosen as the Center’s development partner after an extensive nationwide search.
“We conducted a thorough interview process with a wide variety of local and national firms and, in the end, Lauth was the clear choice,” Costello said. “Our Board was impressed with Lauth’s great track record and experience in creating top-quality, pedestrian-friendly retail developments, as well as the company’s knowledge of the Milwaukee marketplace. The Bradley Center brings more than 1.5 million people Downtown every year. Lauth understands the important role we play in this community and will be an outstanding partner as the Bradley Center evolves into an even stronger entertainment centerpiece for Downtown and the entire metro Milwaukee area.”
The Bradley Center and Lauth are in the process of finalizing a development agreement and preparing an initial development proposal, Costello said.
“We will work with Lauth to develop a specific plan that capitalizes on the great development and economic growth potential presented by the Bradley Center and the land around it,” Costello said. “We look forward to working with Lauth to create a first-class project that will extend the life of our building, help us attract more quality tenants and build on Jane Bradley Pettit’s generous gift to the Milwaukee community.”
Larry Evinger, first vice president of retail development for Lauth, said the development team envisions a mix of retail and restaurant offerings that will enhance the Bradley Center as a year-round destination.
“Lauth is looking forward to creating a unique destination that encourages people to arrive early and stay after events at the Bradley Center, or simply stop by to do a little shopping because they enjoy an open and exciting retail environment,” said Evinger, a former metro Milwaukee resident. “Lauth is in a strong position to partner with The Bradley Center to provide an unmatched experience for patrons. We’re excited for this opportunity, and to be part of this strong development team.”
The Milwaukee office of CB Richard Ellis, a global real estate services company, assisted the Bradley Center in its search and is also part of the development team.
“CB Richard Ellis has done a great job for the Bradley Center,” Costello said. “They’ve helped us secure a wonderful partner in Lauth, and we look forward to sharing some exciting plans with the community in the months ahead.”
