INDIANAPOLIS (March 27, 2007) – Lauth today announced it expects to break ground on its newest hybrid power/lifestyle development in June – Bryan Towne Center.
Bryan Towne Center will be a 400,000 SF retail development located in the heart of the bustling Bryan/College Station, Texas market. It will sit on the Highway 6 bypass, just five minutes from Texas A&M University. Bryan Towne Center is being designed by renowned retail architects Carter-Burgess with a contemporary Texas feel using regional materials and colors. The center will feature a proposed Target as the anchor tenant. In addition, it will offer 5 junior anchor spaces, eight outparcels, and 100,000 SF of small shop space in a village-style format. Grand Opening is scheduled for summer 2008.
“Lauth is excited to get started on this exciting regional retail opportunity in the heart of Aggie country,” said Bob Oliva, Vice President of Retail at Lauth. “Lauth’s nationwide experience in building these types of hybrid power/lifestyle centers will produce wonderful new shopping choices for the people of this fast growing and underserved community.”
Bryan Towne Center marks the eighth retail center developed by Lauth in the past year. Lauth, a national developer and contractor, started construction on Porter’s Vale, a similar hybrid power/lifestyle center in Valparaiso, Indiana (Chicago DMA) in 2006. This 750,000 SF center will feature a JCPenney and Cinemark theatre. Lauth also began development of Brownsburg Station, outside of Indianapolis. This development will be anchored by a Lowe’s Home Improvement Center and another national department store. Three new retail centers in the Charlotte-area highlight the company’s tremendous growth in the Southeast. The also company opened Sycamore Terrace in Terre Haute, Indiana and Lafayette Pavilions in Lafayette, Indiana in 2006.
Bryan Towne Center is the latest announcement by Lauth in recent months. The company broke ground in January on NASCAR Plaza, a 19-story office tower it will own and develop in downtown Charlotte. The company also announced a lease for a 413,000 SF parts distribution center with Nissan in Memphis, Tennessee, and the addition of a new office building at Lauth’s INTECH Park, Indiana’s largest office park.
