CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA (May 19, 2008) – Lauth® today announced plans to build the first building in Key Logistics Park, a state-of-the-art master-planned distribution park in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Key Logistics Park sits on 206 acres in the heart of a strategic east coast shipping lane adjacent to Interstate 81 at Exit 37 and can accommodate up to three million square feet of modern bulk distribution space.
“Key Logistics Park is strategically located along the heaviest traveled distribution route in Pennsylvania,” said Kevin Wade, Vice President of Office and Industrial Development for Lauth’s Northeast region. “This site offers the ability to distribute to 40 million people within a 4 ½ hour drive and the flexibility to meet large distributor’s needs in any configuration desired.”
Construction on Building One will begin next month. This first building is a 1,170,000 square foot, cross-docked, bulk distribution facility. Building ONE will feature over 120 dock doors, 32’ clear height, and space to park up to 280 trailers. Lauth expects the first building to be ready for occupancy in May 2009.
Lauth’s master plan for Key Logistics Park calls for two additional buildings on the site. Building Two will be a 909,000 square foot facility. Building Three will be a 954,000 square foot structure. Construction on those buildings will be based on market activity or on a build-to-suit basis.
This marks the latest announcement for Lauth, one of the nation’s leading development and construction firms. Earlier this month, the company celebrated the grand opening of a 12 screen Cinemark Theater at its 750,000 square foot Porter’s Vale retail development in Valparaiso, Indiana. Last month, it announced plans to build two new distribution buildings in North Pointe Industrial Park near the Port of Charleston. Earlier in April it broke ground on a 68,500 SF medical office building adjacent to Imperial Point Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Last week, Lauth hosted a media tour of NASCAR® Plaza, a 20-story, world-class office tower in downtown Charlotte.
