BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION, TX (July 27, 2008) – Lauth®, one of the nation’s leading development and construction firms, today joined Bryan Mayor D. Mark Conlee and local community leaders to celebrate the grand opening of its latest retail destination, Bryan Towne Center. This Target anchored, 400,000-square-foot (SF) center sits at the entryway of the main highway to Houston, minutes from Texas A&M University.
Mayor Conlee states, “We have enjoyed the partnership with Lauth as they have embraced our vision for the City of Bryan. The Bryan Towne Center is a model retail development that will benefit the City of Bryan for years to come. The grand opening and ribbon cutting is a long-awaited event and we are thrilled to have the Center as the latest retail addition to the community.”
Lauth’s power village approach at Bryan Towne Center blends the best features of a power center, traditionally anchored by national retailers such as Target, along with a village of small shops traditionally found in lifestyle developments. These power villages also feature enhanced architecture and landscaping to create a more inviting atmosphere for shoppers.
“Bryan Towne Center will become a true retail destination in the Bryan/College Station market,” said Dan Barkes, Director of Retail Development at Lauth. “It’s hard to imagine the 116,000 cars that pass this center daily will not take notice of its beautiful features, easy access, and variety of nationally known stores.”
A 127,000 SF Target anchors Bryan Towne Center. Additional retailers that celebrated their grand opening today include: Rack Room Shoes and national fashion retailers rue21 and Maurices. In the coming weeks additional stores will open including Shipley’s Do-Nuts, Nailtopia, Anytime Fitness, and Baskin Robins. Lauth hopes to name additional retailers and restaurants at the center in the coming months.
This marks the latest announcement for Lauth, the 13th largest commercial real estate developer in the US according to Commercial Property News. Last week, the company broke ground on a 1,170,000 SF distribution facility at Key Logistics Park in Central Pennsylvania. Earlier this summer it topped out Montecito Point, a 187,000 SF LEED Registered office building in Las Vegas, and NASCAR® Plaza, a 20-story world class office tower in downtown Charlotte. Next month it will begin construction on a new distribution building at North Pointe Business Park near the Port of Charleston, South Carolina.
